How is Snowkids Art Lab established?
Snowkids Art Lab is a Research and Development department of SSUIM Corporation, which was established in 2007. The mission of SSUIM Corporation is to create a ‘Working Together Community’ to give job opportunities to the handicapped who had been discriminated against for their physical disability. This educational toy brand is designed, developed, and manufactured with intention that mothers have, who want the best for their children. To fulfill our mission, we developed products to provide the best for the next generation and to contribute and to improve social problems, such as caring for the disabled. We proactively work with the mildly handicapped in the process of research and marketing, and the severely handicap work in manufacturing and packaging. (Currently in 2020, 5 handicapped people are working with this company.)
What makes you develop the company for the educational toy brand?
Most parents while raising their young children look for what is the best for them before sending them to school. They naturally spend more time with their young children with the concern about toy safety. Soon, I found out that skinship with parents can contribute to a child’s brain development. So, I began to research for a product that can best provide skinship between a child and the parents. From my research, children love to paint on any surface, with various colors to express their emotion and imagination. Therefore, I spent more time researching and developing a product for both education and recreation. Snowkids is a safe children’s product, that helps them to freely express their emotion and imagination as much as they want in any circumstance, because it is super easy clean up. Snowkids’ products are manufactured with care, and each ingredient is monitored for the safety of the final product.
What is the competitive edge of Snowkids?
Quality, safety, and consistent R&D are our top priority. Our strengths are product safety and the enjoyable texture that attracts repeatable play by children. For parents, we focus on simple and enjoyable clean up. Five types of our finger-paints, Snowsand, graffiti crayons, and marker makers had obtained 3 trademark patents, 4 technical patents, and one design patent. We are currently adding one more technical patent. Product safety is very important, so we use materials that reflect important safety standards. We only use 20 ingredients from the EWG (a non-profit environmental civic group in the USA). Our products also contain ingredients certified by European and Korean safety standards. Furthermore, the products are also approved by the USA, CPSIA, and European CE safety standards. The products are all developed in Korea.
What is Snowkids Art Lap doing for the next generation?
We make our products with a mother’s mind, that wants to give the best to their kids. We make the best effort to keep the mother’s mind real in our products, with a consistent communication with moms. We plan, develop, and manufacture products based on mom’s feedback and opinions. We also make strides to help the environment. Our goal is to continue to reduce unnecessary packaging to help the environment. Even though the packaging is not attractive, it is eco-friendly and is the best for environment. To ensure that customers recycle used paint containers, Snowkids is conducting a campaign to ‘remain paint clean’ and to remove container labels for easier recyclability. Although it is not big, we still continue to host childcare event for disabled children.
